During a family heritage trip to Morocco in the early 2000s, the company discovered the ancient leather tanneries on a rooftop in the old market in the city of Fez. The vibrant colors and the process of traditional hand painted shoes was fascinating and led to the creation of their new L’Artiste line. With the help of a French designer from Paris, they were able to bring their inspiration to life and combine the French impressionism with our Moroccan heritage. As stated by our French designer, “L’Artiste is inspired by French Impressionist artists such as: Claude Monet, Paul Cezanne, Henri Matisse, and Pierre-Auguste Renoir.
Like all French Impressionism artists, the movement's philosophy is to express one’s inner perceptions of nature & its divine beauty. This continues to be L'Artiste’s inspiring force to bring exquisite designs & unparalleled quality, matched with traditional handcrafted footwear that suits an ever growing need for innovative creative.
